Tijuana is a favorite getaway for San Diegan surfers. There are several decent breaks located just minutes from the border. Just beware that there are several surf breaks that are for experienced surfers and you should avoid these if you are just learning. Some of the beaches in Tijuana are polluted so my recommendation is to head a little bit away from Tijuana. Baja Malibu is the closest break from the border that you would even consider surfing. This wave is extremely thick and it gets hallow on low tides. Do not surf here if you are just leaning. |
